Useful Information When Staying At La Cinuelica

Some useful information to either save you time finding once you arrive, or more important should you have ab emergency.

ATM Machines

We have counted 6 machines within a 10 minute walk, but the nearest is just down on the Punta Marina Commercial area. Once you walk over the footbridge over the N332 there are another 2 machines on this small Punta Prima roundabout strip.

Chemists

Again this is on the Punta Prima roundabout strip only a 5 minute walk or so.

Cigarettes

For a nation full of smokers it is surprising how few outlets sell cigarettes. Supermarkets and small shops are normally not allowed, only licensed tobacco shops or machines within pubs are allowed. If you want to buy large packs i.e. 200 cigarettes you will have to go into Torrevieja. the tobacco shop is just opposite the habour area, just before you get to the promenade. For just a single pack, most of the bars have machines, especially at the Punta Prima roundabout.

Medical Treatment Or Hospital Very Near

We are lucky that the local government run hospital is about 5 minutes or less away by car. Just follow the road adjacent to the N332 through Punta Prima and you will arrive at the Torrevieja hospital. If you have your E111 card they will give most treatment for free. there is a second hospital north of Torrevieja on the N332, but this is a private hospital and you will have to pay for treatment and then claim the money back via your travel insurance.

Please be aware, if you were to have serious accident, ambulance drivers will take you to the nearest hospital, whether it be private or public funded. You should always have travel insurance.

Newspapers

Newspapers are available from a shop over the footbridge on the Punta Prima roundabout. You will find that supermarkets do not sell newspapers here. Most of the British newspapers can be bought as well as the Costa Blanca News (In English) and there are also a few free local newspapers also.

24hr Shops

If you need supplies urgently or arrive very late, there is a 24 hour garage not far that also sells basics such as bread milk etc. Follow the same directions as for the hospital and the garage is on the round about near the hospital

Fuel

Most car hire firms require you to return their cars empty now. It is a way of offering cheaper car hire rates. However if you need fuel locally, there is a garage at the Punta Marina commercial area and also next to the local Carrefore, 2 min's in the car.
